Along the beach to the north is scenic Boambee Headland, with a walking circuit and panoramic lookout a great way to start the day. Just around the headland is the protected, child-friendly Boambee Bay Reserve for swimming, a picnic or BBQ. South along the beach (15 mins leisurely walk) is Sawtell patrolled beach and the Sawtell surf club terrace caf. Stroll along beautiful 1st Avenue Sawtell close by, with its cafes, boutiques and heritage cinema. Further south along the beach is Bonville Headland with spectacular coastal views, the Sawtell rock pool and Bonville Reserve.
